Game Review 1: Dead as Disco (Demo)

In this first game Review I'm going to be talking about Dead as Disco. This is only the demo because the full game isn't out yet.

Let's split the review in parts.

1. Story

2. Gameplay

3. Genre

4. Endless Disco

5. The producers

6. Games that are compared with this game.

7. Conclusion

1. The story is kind of simple. You play as Charlie Disco, a fallen idol who tries to reclaim the spotlight.

2. The gameplay is pretty fun. You're doing martial arts on the beat of the song. Every level is a different song with a different beats per minute. How higher the bpm, how faster the combat is. You also have a health bar. And if it's empty, the song stops and you have to try again. There is also Endless Disco. Which I will talk about later.

3. The genre is pretty unique. It's a combination of the 'Beat them up' genre and rhythm based.

4. Endless Disco alone makes it my favorite game of the year. You can play any song you want in ths mode. What i mean by that is, you can import any audio file if you have a mp3 file of it. There are 2 modes to play the songs in, normal and endless. In the normal mode, you play the song one time. And in the Endless mode, like the name already says, the songs is basically on repeat. Just like in the normal levels you can still die/lose.

5. The creator of the game is the indie studio Brain Jar Games. This is their first game.

6. One of the games that is most compared to this, is the game series Devil May Cry. Because Dead as Disco shares a lot of gameplay elements with Devil May Cry. Another game people compare it to is Hi-Fi rush.

7. Conclusion. This is one of my favorite games ever. I can recommend this to almost everyone. Just try it out on Steam.

This was my review. Thanks for reading and have a nice rest of your day.
